08 Nov ADVICE FOR YOUR MATTRESS
TAKING CARE OF YOUR MATTRESS
We give you some advice on keeping your mattress in perfect conditions.
Sometimes, we don´t appreciate just how important this fundamental item in our lives is, on which we spend 7 hours a day. That´s why it is very important to keep it clean and to use it right. We will give you some guidelines to ensure our mattress is kept in a good state.
We recommend you keep your bedroom well ventilated, to control excess heat or dampness, mainly for hygenic or well-being reasons, dissipating bad smells and preventing humidity and mould appearing.
That´s why it is very important and necessary to refresh the air for a healthy environment.
PROTECTION WITH A GOOD COVER
One of the most important things to do when you purchase a mattress is to buy a protective cover (which must be breathable and waterproof), since mattresses are quite difficult to clean. The protector creates a barrier between the mattress and substances like moisture, dust mites, dust, perspiration, etc.
You can wash the cover in the washing machine like any garment.
USE A GOOD BASE OR A SLATTED BED BASE
The mattress must rest on a firm or slatted base. This must be breathable, preferably with perforations in the top for better transpiration, and it must have the same measurements as the mattress.
ROTATE YOUR MATTRESS REGULARLY
We recommend you rotate your mattress 180º, so that the head of the mattress is at the foot. This stops it from sinking, becoming misshapen or sagging in the areas which are slept on most. You should do this every three months.
Don’t jump or stand on your mattress! Not only is this dangerous because you might fall, it will spoil and damage the mattress.
